PWA

Presbyterian Woman Association

The Presbyterian Women's Association (PWA) is an international organization made up of all Presbyterian women. We come together to create meaningful change within our church and local community, living in the grace of God and celebrating the gifts of all individuals. The PWA is open to all women of the church, whether they are members or friends.

The PWA has always been an integral part of our church community and can be seen as the “Marthas” of our congregation. We strive to support our local community through fundraising and mission work. Our outreach efforts include the following initiatives:

  • Marshall Area Community Services: Donations of coats, non-perishable food items, and backpacks filled with necessary school supplies.

  • Calhoun County Juvenile Home: New tennis shoes, art supplies, Bibles, and pillows for the residents.

  • Charitable Union: Contributions of feminine hygiene products, socks, underwear, blue jeans, hats, gloves, mittens, and additional socks.

  • S.A.F.E. Place: Donations of diapers and household items.

  • Samaritas/Family First Program: Contributions of pillows, blankets, diapers, and diaper wipes.

We make annual donations to four different local organizations, including The Fountain Clinic, Mobile Meals, the Humane Society, and the Marshall Public Library-Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Additionally, we have supported our church by purchasing a new oven, contributing to a lighting project, and acquiring fans for the sanctuary.

The PWA is also responsible for coordinating all funeral luncheons. We host the annual Thanksgiving potluck, cookie walks, and a spring luncheon. Furthermore, we take care of the kitchen, ensuring it is organized, well-stocked, and clean.

None of our work would be possible without the strong support of our church family.
